How to handle carriage return in VC?

Hi VC gurus

i would like to know , how to handle the Carriage return in VC 7.0

All i am doing is, i have a Text Editor

where i am entering the some long text with carriage return{enter }

when i pass this text to my backend R/3 system.

it couldnt able to handle the carriage return

Is there any workaround for this issue..
