How to build a flex application without VC

Dear Colleagues,

I would like to create a flex application and integration it with the bankend ABAP system, but with some restriction, I can't use VC here, so I need to create a stand alone flex application.

Would you please give me some hint on how to begin this, especially on how to set up the development environment and how to integrate with the ABAP system.
